Hancock Public Schools – New Elementary School

Gundlach Champion built this 6,5000 square foot elementary school that serves 557 students. The facility is a single story structure designed to complement the historical mining region. The project includes a gymnasium, kitchen facilities, library and classroom space.
GCI is also the construction manager for the district’s middle school, which opened in January 2010.

Hancock Public Schools – New Middle School

The Project consisted of a Middle School addition to the existing Hancock Public High School. The addition included classrooms, gymnasium, auditorium, and a metal shop. Work included selective building demolition and preparation of the site for the addition. The site work also included a new football field, track, and storm water detention pond. Foundations were cast-in-place concrete along with slab-on-grade, with exterior slab-on-grade, with exterior and interior masonry partitions. The building has concrete slabs on steel joists and metal deck, and membrane roofing system over steel joists and metal deck. Finishes throughout include paint, flooring, and acoustical ceilings. A full compliment of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems were installed. Gundlach Champion served as the Construction Manager for this project. The project was completed in Fall 2009.
