Chippewa County Jail Phase II Addition and Renovations
The overall project consisted of the construction of fifty-eight (58) bed addition to the existing Chippewa County Jail facility. The project included all site work and underground utilities as well as protection of existing. Existing soils were poor and were removed and replaced prior to new concrete foundations. The building frames are a combination of structural steel and lead bearing masonry. The ground level has parking similar to the 1999 addition. Due to the nature of he facility the CMU will be reinforced and fully grouted. The exterior is a sealed split face veneer. Interior partitions are painted CMU with glazed block in the wet areas. The building has a membrane roof and skylights for natural light. Finishes consist of VCT flooring and base painted walls. A full compliment of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and security systems were installed as well. Gundlach Champion served as the Design Builder for this project. The project was completed in Spring 2009.
