This brand new library facility for the City of Houghton (MI) was constructed on the banks of beautiful Portage Lake. Gundlach Champion worked with the USDA and the City of Houghton to acquire a grant for this project that now, at approximately 11,650 square feet, doubles the usable space of the old library facility. The library features a history room, a learning center for young patrons and computer usage for patrons of all ages. While the exterior of the library faces the lake, the interior accentuates the view with picture windows and a color scheme that matches the autumn scenery across the lake in Hancock.
